To ensure the ministry of Senior Living Ministries operates in a way that glorifies our Lord, we have assembled a diverse and passionate Board of Directors. We believe as it says in Proverbs, "there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors," and our goal is to conduct ourselves with maximum efficiency, effectiveness and accountability.
Warren Olson, Pastor & President
A native of California, Warren Olson was led to ministry after thirty years in the construction industry. He attended Talbot Seminary and has served as a pastor to Senior Adults at South Coast Community Church in Irvine, California and as Pastor to Care Ministries at Mariners Church in Southern California. Warren has served as a Bible School Director, Sunday School teacher and on the executive board of his church for more than twenty years. He is also a Bible study leader.
His passion for working with Seniors and his desire to see Seniors actively serving God led him to found Senior Living Ministries. Warren and his wife, Virginia (a Senior Living Board Member), have been married 54 years and have four children and eleven grandchildren.
Douglas K. Wallace, Secretary
Doug Wallace grew up in the Pasadena area and served as a Naval Officer in the Korean War. Following his military service, Doug graduated from USC Law School and started his own law practice in Orange County. Doug's service in the Christian community includes local congregations in Altadena and Laguna Beach as well as with Youth For Christ (YFC) and the Free Church of America (Southwest Division).
Alan Oleson, Treasurer
Alan Oleson serves as Treasurer for Senior Living Ministries. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from USC. Alan's service in the local church as well as other community and ministry organizations and business ventures has resulted in a wide spectrum of experience which he brings to bear in his work with Senior Living. Alan has three children and ten grandchildren.
William E. Georgesen
Bill moved to Orange County, California from Evansville, Indiana in 1964. He was a teacher in the Orange Unified School District until 2004. He received a BA Degree in Education from the University of Evansville and an MA in School Administration from Chapman University in Orange, California.
Bill and his wife Betty live in the city of Orange, and are active in the Fellowshippers Class at Mariners Church in Irvine. They have attended Mariners for eight years. Bill enjoys planning local trips for the Fellowshippers, and playing golf, and bridge.
Dr. Chuck Olson
Dr. Chuck Olson serves as Executive Pastor at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena. His lifetime of ministry and service has included other pastoral staff roles as well as Masters and Doctoral degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary and Talbot School of Theology, respectively. Chuck's priorities in ministry include building and leading a ministry team through partnership, affirmation, collaboration, empowerment and accountability. He seeks to understand, value and maximize each person's unique gifts, competencies and passions.
Chuck's wife, Pattie, is passionate about her ministry involving the mentoring of mothers and utilizing her gift of creative hospitality. Chuck and Pattie have two sons.
Virginia Olson
Virginia Olson has served the local church for decades, including children's and youth ministries as well as women's and senior ministries. A native Californian, Virginia and her husband, Warren, enjoy encouraging Seniors to actively serve God. Virginia and Warren have been married 54 years. They have four children and 11 grandchildren.
Mary Kay Swanson
Mary Kay Swanson arrived in California in 1962 as an airline flight attendant. She is active at Mariners Church and shares the passion of Senior Living Ministries to reach Seniors in need with the love of God. Mary Kay founded an aviation graphics company more than twenty years ago and has been honored by numerous organizations as a leader in women-owned businesses. She has two daughters and six grandchildren.
Robert M. Teskey
Bob was born in Los Angeles California and has lived in Southern California all his life. Bob worked for Ralphs Grocery Company for fifteen years and resigned his position as Store Manager to work with his father in the lock business. Bob started a Custom Security Hardware business in 1965 and his partners are his two Sons and Son-in-law. Bob and his wife Barbara have been married for 53 years, have attended First Baptist Church of Lakewood for 33 years, and have been members of Mariners Church for the past ten years. Bob and Barbara have three Children and eight Grandchildren.
