The Impact of Senior Living Ministries

Virginia and Warren have ministered to me personally through prayer, hospital visitation, calls, notes of encouragement, and wise counseling. I've also been greatly blessed to be a witness to this team in action, leading Bible studies, witnessing, baptizing, [and] conducting weddings and funerals. They have a strong trust and deep faith as well as a God-centered joy.

I was in the hospital recuperating from a seven-hour heart bypass, when someone knocked on my door and there stood my old friend Warren Olson. It was such an uplifting experience to see his smiling face and hear his words of encouragement...

We were privileged to have Lee Ezell speak to us...at our Christmas event...and she is always enthusiastic and weaves [the] Gospel message into her very exciting life story. The occasion seemed to generate excitement for the seniors in Leisure World, as they agreed this was a good way to start the holiday season. They enjoyed the program and as they left, [they] were asking when the next event would take place.

There was a very special couple in our Bible class. I received a phone call from the husband saying that his wife had unexpectedly passed away during the night. I went to his home immediately, and encouraged and ministered to him. I conducted the memorial service and shared Christ's love with family and friends.

Services We Offer

• Prayer needs and/or requests - Senior Living volunteers are ready to pray with you over the phone, or if you're in the Southern California area, you can request a visit to your home
• Assistance in planning the funeral and/or memorial service for a loved one
• Church consulting on senior adult ministry development
• Biblical Counseling by phone or personal visit
• Visitation in the hospital, retirement home or community, or private residence
• Retirement Home Bible Studies
• Assistance in placing a parent or loved one in the right care facility

Helping Churches with Senior Programs

Putting together an effective church visitation program, as well as senior adult programs can be challenging for even experienced ministry staff. Reaching and serving this highly sensitive group within the church is accomplished most effectively when guided by experienced ministry leaders.

As the previous Seniors' Pastor for South Coast Community Church and Care Pastor of Mariner's Church in Irvine, Senior Living Ministries founder Warren Olson brings years of experience that can help you build a successful senior ministry program in your church. An important part of our ministry is consulting with churches to bring ideas and concrete direction to ramp up these ministries and make them as effective as possible.
