A Note of Encouragement from Warren Olson

Dear Friend,

Warren Olson

As we think about stress, it’s important to be able to identify what the causes of stress are in your life. And probably the most fundamental source of worry and anxiety that I see among seniors today is uncertainty about the future. Whether dealing with finances, family, or even death, the ambiguity of what will happen tomorrow can very often stir up uneasiness.

So whenever I start to feel that kind of anxiousness about the future, I love to turn to Matthew 6:31-34 where the Lord Jesus teaches,

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them…. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

One fact that’s as true today as it was 2,000 years ago is that God always provides for His people. So why is it that so many become discouraged about tomorrow when God has always provided? Because the enemy loves to sow the seed of worry in your life!

When it comes to stress, worry, and anxiety, don’t give Satan a foothold by allowing him to fill your head with the lie that God won’t provide for you. Instead, resist him and trust in your heavenly Father to supply for all your tomorrows.

That’s what we do here at Senior Living. We trust that God will supply for our tomorrows through friends like you, and we’re so grateful that God has provided us with such devoted supporters who pray and give so generously to our ministry!

I hope you’ve been encouraged by this edition of SeniorLife. It’s my prayer that you would grow all the more confident in our heavenly Father’s will for your life and experience the joy and peace He wants you to have as you declare your freedom from worry. Virginia and I are truly grateful for you!
