I’m very ill and the doctors don’t think I’m going to get better. What kind of hope can I have for a better tomorrow?

This is a very common question I hear from seniors today. Is it really possible to have hope when it seems there’s nothing to hope for? The answer is a resounding yes!
In Christ, there’s always something to hope for…

What’s the best way you have been encouraged by others in your life?

We’ve been so encouraged by the appreciation that’s shown to us by those who’ve been impacted by our ministry. We always love receiving emails and letters from seniors just to say thanks for our devotionals and web tools. It’s so great to see people realize it’s never too late to begin getting into God’s Word!

How to Experience God in a Whole New Way

A story is told about an evangelist named Gipsy Smith who lived in the late 1800s. Gipsy traveled all over the world, preaching on every continent and in many countries. Are there any other ways to defeat fear?

Yes, one way is to praise God in any and every situation. Now, I know this isn’t a natural response to stress and fear, but learning to be thankful for whatever circumstance you’re in will help you see things as God sees them and He will encourage you as you learn to trust in Him.

Encouraging Others Through the Ups and Downs

Imagine this: You’re watching the very end of the Super Bowl and the score is tied. With just seconds left to play, one team snaps the ball and the quarterback barely escapes being tackled. And with all of his strength, he throws the ball to his receiver. It’s a fantastic catch! The receiver escapes one, two, three defenders and crosses the goal line just as the clock runs out to make his team the world champions.

The camera pans to the sideline of the winning team. Yet, when you’d expect to see them rushing the field and hoisting the receiver up on their shoulders, there’s only silence as they quietly walk back to the locker room.

Death is always a difficult subject. How do you counsel people on this sensitive subject?

The first thing I do is remind people of the hope we have in Jesus Christ… Jesus said in John 11:25-26, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes…

Absolutely! In fact, we will know each other better in heaven. On the Mount of Transfiguration, Peter, James, and John knew that the two men standing with Jesus were Moses and Elijah. In the same way, we will know our loved ones who have accepted Christ and gone on to heaven before us.
