Fulfilling your role as an ambassador for Christ

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

2 Corinthians 5:20

The South Pole could be called the healthiest place on earth because there’s no pollution, no dust, and very few people. The air is as fresh and clean as it must have been everywhere before man began pouring industrial wastes into the atmosphere. Furthermore, it’s too cold for any germs to survive there.

So you’d think with all the health benefits of living near the South Pole, people would be eager to live there… but they’re not. Why is that? Well, not only is it incredibly cold, but it is nearly lifeless compared to the rest of the planet. There’s just nothing happening there.

Now while you’ve probably never struggled with wanting to move to the South Pole, Christians very often isolate themselves in their own “South Poles” – their homes. In their homes they find safety, comfort, and control. Yet being cut off from the world is a very real problem for many as safety, comfort, and control become their idols.

The outside world can be a scary place when compared to the comforts of your own home. But that’s where Christ calls us to go. Connect with others who live around you. Get out and be an ambassador for Christ in the world!
