So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
— Galatians 5:16-17
Two very different birds with very different outlooks make their homes in the deserts of the United States. One is the vulture: a giant scavenger bird that eats the dead carcasses of animals off the ground. The other is the hummingbird: a small, fast-moving bird that eats the nectar from living flowers.
While both of them are birds, the two couldn’t be more different. The vulture searches the ground for death, while the hummingbird searches for life. The vulture fills itself with dead, rotting meat, while the hummingbird seeks out new life. Each bird finds what it’s looking for.
As Christians, we can either seek to be a hummingbird, filling ourselves with the life of Christ, or we can be a vulture, filling ourselves with the death of sin. But the truth is that whichever one we seek, we will find. If we seek people and things that encourage us and give us life, we’ll find them.
The truth is that when we fall into sin and it stings us, it’s because we sought it out in the first place. So seek out people and things that will breathe life into your spirit and strengthen your walk with Christ!

Are there some things in your life today you need to steer clear of in order to feed your walk with Christ?
