GivingTuesday is in full swing and I hope you won’t miss today’s Daily Living Devotional on what God’s Word says about generosity. I know you’ll be inspired to get involved!
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”— Luke 6:38
So often biblical principles are up-side down from the rules of the culture. The world says, “Be first!” Jesus says, “Be last.” The world says, “Punch back!” Jesus says, “Turn the other cheek.”
And when it comes to generosity, once again the opposing messages are at odds. Your sinful nature and the whispers of society will lead you to the question, “What’s in it for me?” But in Luke 6:38, Jesus says our focus should be on giving. Because the truth is, when you give, you’ll receive more than you can imagine in the end.
Want a tangible example of this? The next time you’re at a gathering where someone is opening gifts, keep your eyes on the giver. There, behind their eyes, you’ll see true, lasting joy.
On this GivingTuesday, you can practice generosity right now by giving so that seniors across the world who are feeling isolated in this difficult stage of life can find hope and encouragement. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. Try it and see!

Questions for Thought
Do you believe it’s truly better to give than receive? Why do you think that is? Was there a time in your life when someone was generous with you? How did you feel?
