Thanksgiving and Anticipation

By Michael Risley

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that 2020 was a difficult year. But God often does some of His greatest work in our hardest times.

He helped us through COVID-19, being confined when we would have rather been out, tiring of masks, riots, and looting in many cities, and fiercely fought elections.

Yet while many of us experienced hardship, we were strengthened by the hope, peace, and joy that comes from knowing Jesus as our Savior.

The Apostle Paul put it this way in 2 Corinthians 4:16–18…

Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!… For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Even in a year like the one we’ve been through, we’re promised that the hardships we face are minuscule compared to eternity.

And now more good news coming out of 2020…

Thanks to the support of friends like you, over 40,000 seniors are being reached with the good news of Jesus Christ every month!

Revival is happening as seniors grow in God’s Word through our e-devotionals, prayer ministry, Facebook community, and through our website filled with verses of comfort, biblical articles, and videos.

We also recently sent out our latest book, Hope for the Hurting, which has given hope to many dealing with grief and loneliness.

And as we look to 2021, I believe God is going to expand this revival work by adding at least two more important elements to this outreach…

First, God has given us a vision of beginning a weekly podcast to further proclaim His Word and to help you as you follow Jesus.

You’ll primarily hear from me and my wonderfully gifted wife, Joanie. We’re thrilled to teach from God’s Word and share our lives with you through this new medium.

And second, we believe God is leading us to invest more heavily in training seniors to become spiritual reproducers. Like the Apostle Paul discipled Timothy, we want to equip as many as possible to disciple others… and help them embrace the life God intends!

I’m so excited to see more lives restored in 2021 – which is why I’ll say thanks for your renewed financial support below by sending you our special devotional book, The Transforming Power of Christ, to help you reignite your relationship with Christ in the year ahead.

Thank you always for your partnership through your prayers, financial support, and love – to the glory of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!
