But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7
A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon. “How do you know what to say?” asked the little boy. “Simple, God tells me,” replied his father.
“Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out?”
One of the most powerful ways God shows us His grace is in the way He uses weak, broken, and sinful people to accomplish His will.
Moses had a speech impediment, and God used Him to build a nation. Gideon was a coward, and God used him to defeat an army. Mary was a teenage girl, and God used her to bring Jesus into the world. Paul was an enemy of the church, and God used him to reach the nations for Christ.
And right now all around the world, God is using ordinary people like you to do amazing things for His Kingdom.
As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:6, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”
